You will form part of the warehouse team. The role will involve prepping & de-prepping of shows and dry hires to an excellent standard. There will be progression to on-site work and operating smaller events alongside the warehouse role.  You will need to be enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills with all levels of staff. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prep & de-prep all sound & visual equipment
  • A background in lighting, rigging & staging is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of LOLER is advantageous, but not essential
  • Forklift Truck license is advantageous, but not essential
  • Clean UK driving license
  • Previous experience within a similar role is essential
  • Pick and prepare equipment prior to dispatch, using job specific equipment lists
  • Load and un-load lorries & vans
  • De-prep equipment after rental and return to stock, keeping paperwork & on-line systems updated
  • General maintenance, testing, PAT testing, and cleaning of all equipment
  • Keep the warehouse and yard clean and tidy
  • Working out of hours and weekends (Overtime and TOIL available)
  • Work on site when required
  • Drive occasionally (shows and dry hires)
  • Physically fit (you will be required to lift and move heavy equipment)
  • Self-motivated, flexible and able to take ownership / accountability for tasks
  • High level of communication, both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail and enjoy taking pride in the job
  • Customer and improvement focused
  • Computer literate with experience of the RentalPoint hire system is advantageous
  • Prepared to work paid overtime, during the busy periods
  • Take a positive approach to all aspects of health and safety in the warehouse and onsite
  • Represent the company in a positive manner to clients, venues and other related persons; good appearance, courteous and helpful at all times
  • Supervise and assist in ensuring that shows are prepped correctly, consistently, cost effectively and on time.

Person Specification / Qualities & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the design and delivery of Audio, visual & lighting Systems is essential
  • Knowledge of CAD and Sketch Up is advantageous, but not essential
  • Excellent people skills; a good communicator – written and oral
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office suite) – will be required to learn bespoke “RentalPoint” software
  • A good team player, able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to problem solve and work to tight deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated, with a flexible and “can do” attitude
  • Dexterity and agility; work will be physically demanding at times
  • Ability to anticipate
  • Precise attention to detail
  • Diplomacy and sensitivity on site
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the relevant Health and Safety legislation and procedures
  • Forklift truck licence holder (not essential)
