Storm is looking for an individual with previous experience within the entertainment lighting industry to join our busy warehouse team as an Equipment Preparation Technician. As part of this role, you will be working across all departments to prepare Lighting, Distro, Rigging & Cable equipment, with a preference for Moving Lights, LED & Control equipment for an ever-expanding range of events.
Hours: Full Time (40 Hours) over a 5-day week
Report To: Warehouse Manager
Salary: £22,000 – £24,000 (dependant upon experience)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Testing, service, and preparation of a range of lighting, rigging, distro & cable equipment.
- Ensure equipment is consistently prepared to both our high standards and client’s specific requirements.
- Gain a good understanding and knowledge of all rental equipment stocked.
- Accurately check out and check in equipment to and from all hires and ensure any
missing or damaged equipment is reported to the Warehouse and Hire Managers. - Follow and observe all Health & Safety rules and guidelines ensuring a safe working environment. This role will require heavy manual handling and include the loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Always maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
- Represent the Company in a courteous and appropriate manner in any interactions with clients.
- Prepared to work paid overtime and weekends during busy periods.
- Adhere to the staff handbook policies
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Have an existing knowledge of entertainment lighting systems and be keen to develop new skills as new technologies emerge within the industry.
- You will be self-motivated and flexible with the ability to work under your own initiative or under direction from a manager. Taking ownership / accountability for tasks.
- A high attention to detail and be able to work to both fixed and short deadlines.
- You can prioritise and work on multiple projects at the same time.
- You will be an enthusiastic, motivated, and friendly team player committed to the company’s development.
- You will have proven IT skills, including the use of the Microsoft office suite and RentalPoint (training will be provided for company specific applications)
- Basic electrical and computer networking knowledge is desirable; however, training will be given.
