We calculate the estimated carbon impact for your event or rental on our quotes. Then, you can opt-in to our #GoGreen Sustainability Programme. Helping to create new forests, restoring habitats and supporting global carbon reduction programs around the world through our platform. Thanks to our friends at Ecologi, from as little as £4.80 you can be part of our #GoGreen Sustainability Programme.

We are delighted to announce our latest investment with Martin. Adding the new ELP Par to our growing inventory. The successor to the popular Rush Par 2, the ELP par adds increased output and full colour calibration. It proved to be the ideal fixture to expand our LED Par offering, alongside a number of other static LED fixtures.

The Martin ELP PAR static LED fixture sets a new standard in the static wash category. With unprecedented lumen output, high-intensity narrow zoom, full-gamut colour calibration and smart rigging and control features.

The ELP PAR makes installation faster and easier, thanks to a quick-focus system and bright angle of projection indicators. Other performance enhancements include a wide zoom range that allows both stage illumination and tight mid-air beam effects. An advanced colour-calibration system that delivers accurate color reproduction and precise colour temperature control. An extended color mode and a CTC channel that allows RGB colour mixing around your desired white point.

We are pleased to announce another of our recent investments, the Robe RoboSpot. The addition of the RoboSpot system to our inventory was an easy choice. It perfectly complements our already wide range of Robe fixtures, including; BMFL Blade, MegaPointe, Spiider & 150 LEDBeam‘s. The system makes it easy to create followspot positions wherever they are needed within a lighting rig. However there is no longer a need to put operators into the rafters, they can operate with their feet firmly on the ground. We are excited to get our new systems out onto projects this Autumn / Winter.

Storm Invests in Astera Titan Tubes

Ahead of PLASA 2022, we are pleased to annouce one of our latest investments in new equipment with Astera. We now have both a number of Astera Titan Tube kits and AsteraBox CRMX Transmitters. Our Titan Tube kit’s come complete with all accessories as standard. In addition, we also stock the “wing plates” to allow for more creative rigging options or for single point mounting. Astera Titan cable kits are also available for hire, in 5m, 10m & 15m lengths.

Titan is the ultimate LED tube for filmmakers, TV studios and any creative person. It emits powerful, tunable white with ultra-high colour rendering. As well as RGBA+M colour mixing which can be applied to individual pixels or the whole tube. The tube offers unlimited range of usage; indoor or outdoor. AC-powered or on battery, on the go with the AsteraApp, with wired or wireless DMX.

The Astera system is a smart control system of your Film Lighting Tube. Infrared remote, wireless DMX and app work together to enable big setups with ease. Additionally, being monitored and adjusted in a fast and convenient way.

Kinky Boots Struts Back Into The West End

Kinky Boots the Musical in Concert at London's Theatre Royal, Drury Lane

Returning to the West End at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane for the first time since 2019. Kinky Boots is the exhilarating true story about a struggling shoe factory and Charlie Price who has reluctantly inherited his father’s factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. A show that will lift you higher than any platform boots!

Storm we pleased to supply both a Lighting Package & Production Management services for this special “in Concert” version at London’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Lighting Design was provided by Ben Cracknell as part of a series of concerts this summer. Ben made full use of our new Prolight’s Lumipix 15IP LED Batten‘s, alongside Robe Pointe‘s and traditional 2 Lite & 4 Lite Blinder‘s.

“It’s great to see our Lumipix 15IP Battens as part of Ben’s creative design. As well as our Pointe’s which continue to creat some great in-air effects and beams. It’s also brilliant to be able to have a show such as Kinky Boots, which can take full advantage of all the features in both fixtures. Especially in a venue like the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.” says Storm’s Rental Manager, James.


About The Show

Winner of six TONY awards and the Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 2016. Kinky Boots features a joyous score by Cyndi Lauper. As well as a hilarious, uplifting book by Harvey Fierstein.

Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father’s shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father’s legacy and save his family business. Charlie finds inspiration in the form of the fabulous entertainer Lola. Together they work out what is best for both of them.

This summer, a performance of Kinky Boots the musical in concert will be coming to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. With Cedric Neal (Back To The Future, Motown), Joel Harper-Jackson (COCK, Kinky Boots UK Tour). As well as Courtney Bowman (Six, Legally Blonde) bringing the music alive with the London Musical Theatre Orchestra. This concert is sure to lift the spirits and have you dancing in the aisles.

Storm were delighted to put the final pieces in place for the much anticipated revival of Chess. Performed in Concert at London’s prestigeous Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Supplying Lighitng & Production Management services. Chess is the first in a series of concerts at the Theatre Royal this summer, as part of an exciting concert series.

About The Show

With music by ABBA legends Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, and lyrics by the incomparable Sir Tim Rice. The iconic musical Chess returns to the West End for the first time since a limited run at the London Coliseum in 2018.

At the height of the Cold War, two chess masters meet in Bangkok to battle for the world championship. But their greatest contest is for the love of one woman. Telling a story of love and political intrigue. Set against the background of the Cold War in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Chess features an incredible score including classics such as “I Know Him So Well” and “One Night in Bangkok”.

Starring Samantha Barks (Frozen, Les Miserables), Hadley Fraser (City of Angels, Phantom Of The Opera), Joel Harper-Jackson (Cock, Kinky Boots), Frances Mayli McCann (Les Miserables, Evita), Ako Mitchell (Bonnie and Clyde, The Lion King). Alongside Craige Els (Matilda, Coronation Street) with the 50-piece London Musical Theatre Orchestra accompanying.

We are pleased to announce another significant investment with TMB. Our latest investment sees the expansion of our stock of ProPlex Data Distribution hardware. We are excited to be the first company globally to take delivery of TMB’s new ProPlex Simple GBS 10. A managed switch offering both Fibre & EtherCON input / output’s with support for trunk’s, offering reliable backup connectivity.

The Simple GBS 10 switches provide easy configuration for multiple VLAN’s and support for entertainment specific protocols. Including, MA-Net, sACN, ArtNet, HogNet, RDMNet, Dante, HippoNet & many more. With twin Quad Fibre ports alongside the standard eight EtherCON ports. The Simple GBS is the perfect managed switch for any system.

Storm was delighted to work with the team at DRPG to supply a multi-hall conference and exhibition back in June at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. Supplying a complete comprehensive lighting package consisting of over 2,500 fixtures. Spread across the multi-hall event including ROBE BMFLs, MegaPointe & Spiider’s, Martin Ultra Performances & Aura XB’s along with SGM Q7, P6 & P10 fixtures.

Data Distribution

This was the prime project for Storm to debut our brand new ProPlex Simple GBS Managed Switches. Along with our expanded stock of ProPlex 2×8 DMX Buffers to provide the backbone of the systems and data network. As the first rental company globally to own the Simple GBS “Blue Boxes”. We were excited to make full use of these on such a sizeable project.

The Simple GBS switches provide easy configuration for multiple VLAN’s and support for entertainment specific protocols. Including, MA-Net, sACN, ArtNet, HogNet, RDMNet, Dante, HippoNet & many more. With twin Quad Fibre ports alongside the standard eight EtherCON ports. The Simple GBS is the perfect managed switch for any system.

“It made complete sense to continue our long-term partnership and investment with TMB and their ProPlex data distribution products. The proven reliability of ProPlex hardware gave us complete confidence in expanding our inventory with their latest hardware.” Storm’s Hire Manager, James says.

Mains Distribution

This project also made use of our recent investment in Indu Electric’s 72 Way Socapex Distro’s. Providing the mains distribution for the lighting package. “Knowing we had top of the line fixtures from Robe, Martin & SGM. Along with the data and mains distribution from Indu & TMB. We knew this was a lighting package with true reliability and performance across the whole system.” Continues James.

We also made use of our existing ProPlex hardware. With both the 8 & 16 Way Data Distribution racks which are ideal for a “ready to roll” data distribution package. Featuring a ProPlex node (8 or 16 way), GBS 10 Port Switch, 6x 2×8 DMX Buffer and fully backed up with a UPS.

The lighting system, controlled by two full size grandMA3’s. Paired with a series of both Medium & Large PU’s. Provided additional distributed data processing. As well as being configured with full redundancy through the entire network. Reducing any opportunity for single point failures.
